Aars Church: Originally the church of Aars was a small Norman church built in ashlar. In the period 1921-22 it was drastically rebuilt. The original church was incorporated to form the transepts of the new cross-shaped church. The church still incorporates a few Romanesque windows and lintels which have been reused from the original church building. Outside there is a runic stone with an inscription meaning: "Asser erected this stone in commemoration of his master Valtoke. The stone shall remain here for long; it shall be the cairn of Valtoke."
Aars means an oasis, if you walk around the town you will encounter a lot of unforgettable things. Among other things you will see art of an International format, and you will sense the intense atmosphere of the shopping street, which was renovated recently. Service is a keyword in Aars, and all year around you will find a lot of activities for all ages. As a contrast to the modern shopping centre of Aars we also have an unique nature and rustic village life.
